2017 Spring Junior Olympic results and records

Congratulations to all of our Junior Olympic swimmers who competed in Pasadena last weekend. Royal got an overall 14th place with 516 points. Below you will find Royal swimmers records and top 8 finalists.

Team records:
 

Nicholas Bagri set a new team record in the boys 8 and under age group – 50 free with his best time 32.16 (200 free relay). The previous record of 32.16 (the same time) was set by Youngwook Kim in October 2011.

 

Molly Beetner set two new team records in the girls 10 and under age group:

·          100 IM with her best time of 1:10.68 (6th place). The previous record of 1:10.70 was set by Mya Jackson in February, 2011.

·          200 IM with her best time of 2:30.29 (7th place). The previous record of 2:30.65 was set by herself last month at Q meet.

Taisei Saito set three new team records in the boys 10 and under age group:

·          500 free with his best time of 5:43.62 (3rd place). The previous record of 5:50.58 was set by Andy Kim in November 2009.

·          50 free with his best time of 27.95 (4th place). The previous record of 28.02 was set by Andy Kim in October 2009.

·          100 free with his best time of 1:00.26 (6th place). The previous record of 1:00.28 was set

by Andy Kim in September 2009.

 

Relays records:
 

10 and under boys (Sean Lee, Logan Perez, Crother-Collado Lucas & Taisei Saito)  set a new team record in the boys 10 and under age group 200 free relay with their best time of 2:00.23 (6th place). The previous record of 2:03.07 was set by (S. Lee, D. Oroszlan, L. Perez & T. Saito) in December 2016.
 

10 and under boys (Logan Perez, Daniel Oroszlan, Taisei Saito & Sean Lee)  set a new team record in the boys 10 and under age group 200 medley relay with their best time of 2:18.46 (7th place). The previous record of 2:24.73 was set by (A. Dozal, M. Raybukh, A. Liu & N. Choi) in March 2006!!
 

11-12 girls (Leelee Marucci, Katie Almero, Stella Vass & Sydney Braxton)  set a new team record in the girls 11-12 age group 400 free relay with their best time of 3:58.47 (7th place). The previous record of 3:59.55 was set by (N. Smith, A. McCauley, G. Castro & A. Berman) in January 2014.
 

13-14 girls (Kimmy Park, Josephine Hein, Jemma Durrant & Ellie Shorten)  set a new team record in the girls 13-14 age group 400 free relay with their best time of 3:44.63 (10th place). The previous record of 3:44.97 was set by (A. Okada, K. Wong, J. Ho, S. Smith) in December 2012.
 

13-14 girls (Kimmy Park, Julianna Penner, Jemma Durrant & Ellie Shorten)  set a new team record in the girls 13-14 age group 800 free relay with their best time of 8:09.58 (7th place). The previous record of 8:11.97 was set by (K. Park, J. Penner, J. Durrant & Ellie Shorten) in December 2016.
