I have partnered with Anna Fitzgerald, former OMNI swimmer and coach, who is now a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist to develop a Nutrition Clinic Series for our program. As all the older swimmers know, I firmly believe that developing a successful swimmer extends far beyond the pool and includes everything from time management skills and appropriate sleep habits to the fuel we put into our bodies. Anna and I have discussed a number of topics to help build both healthy athletes and also healthy adults. The first of these clinics will take place on Monday, May 22nd from 5:30-7:00 PM at the Maplewood Middle School Cafeteria and be geared towards the Pre-Senior and Senior swimmers. These swimmers are encouraged to invite their high school teammates as well in an effort to develop a social network aroundýhealthy eating. Information included in the clinic that is appropriate to the Rookie and Age Group programs will be presented to those groups by their coaches although Rookie and Age Group Parents are welcome to attend the class while their swimmers are working out! Please share in my enthusiasm and encourage your Pre-Senior/Senior swimmers to attend and to bring their swimming friends!
