Ridge Meet Summary & Upcoming Week

Swimmers & Families,

Coach Holly:  What a great first meet of the season!!  We had lots of great swims and beautiful weather. It's exciting to see the progress we have already made. It’s fortunate we had a non-scored meet for our first one, because there was a lot of confusion over the  relays.  Please take note for our next scored meet that when you check in for a meet, there are relay and relay alternate lists posted on the little bulletin board.  PLEASE LOOK TO SEE IF YOU ARE SWIMMING ON A RELAY.  If you are on the list, you are on a relay, even if your name doesn’t appear in the program.  This past weekend there were 74 swimmers listed to be in relays, so it would be very difficult for the coaches to individually inform every swimmer that they are in a relay.

If you are on the relay list and you cannot swim the relay, please inform a coach immediately.  Normally changes need to be made before the meet starts.  We had to scratch three of the last relays because people had left or didn’t know they were on a relay.  I don’t want that to happen again, as it really can affect the outcome of a meet.  Relays earn our team a LOT of points.  If your swimmer DOES NOT want to swim in a relay at a meet, please make note of it when you declare for a meet.  If you have any questions about this, please feel free to email me at [email protected].

Coach Robby: What an awesome first meet!  It was great to see everyone trying their hardest, especially our new swimmers.  This meet really set the bar high for the rest of the year.  Can’t wait to see the improvements to come!

Coach Raegan:  Fantastic first meet everyone!   I am so happy to see that everyone was having fun and trying their best today.  I saw so many great swims and I can’t wait to see many more to come!  Once again, great job and I’m looking forward to the rest of the season!

Coach Reilly:  Wow!! I can't believe the first meet is over already!  I am so proud of everyone.  While we definitely need to work on a few things, I thought we did absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see what everyone does next weekend!

Coach Kayla:  Good job to everyone for an awesome first meet!  I know it’s hard to get back in the swim team groove, but everyone did amazing.  I saw a lot of improvements from the first practice and I can’t wait to see what else the kids will improve on this next week.  I’m so proud of everyone!

Coach Lizzie:  This week’s meet went really well!   I think everyone did a great job and I’m proud of all my 8-Under swimmers.  I’m looking forward to seeing you all improve even more and I can’t wait to see how well you all do in meets to come.

Swimmers of the Week -  Each practice, the coaches make a list every swimmer who did something like trying hard, listening well, encouraging their teammates, getting in the water promptly, helping with setup or takedown, or swimming exceptionally well at a meet.    On Friday we tally up the votes and award a Swimmer of the Week t-shirt to four swimmers in the first practice and two in the second practice.  Swimmers of the Week will get their picture featured in the glass team case as you walk into the pool area.

This week's Swimmers of the Week are Frankie Lebherz, George Lockney,  Trevor Lyons, Erin Smith,Mariah Williams and Gabby Wolf.  * * Congratulations, swimmers! * *
