Lilly King (Evansville/ Indiana University) blazed to a Gold Medal and a New World Record in the 100 Meter Breaststroke on Tuesday at the 17th FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. King led from wire to wire, stopping the clock at 1:04.13, to eclipse the old record of 1:04.35 set in 2013 by Ruta Meilutyte. On Wednesday, King was part of the Gold Medal winning and World Record setting USA 4x100 Mixed Medley Relay. King paired with Matt Grevers (Back), Caleb Dressel (Fly) and Simone Manuel (Free) to take the win. The Relay broke the record set by the American quartet of Ryan Murphy (Back), Kevin Cordes (Brst), Kelsi Worrell (Fly) and Mallory Comerford (Free) during prelims on the same day. King Returns to action on Thursday in the 200 Breaststroke.
