Kick off Classic(sign-up coming soon) – this is an annual kick-off tri-meet hosted by Bel Air Aquatic Club to be held September 23-24.  It is the first meet of the season and all swimmers are eligible. The Kickoff Classic is a great way to meet new families and for swimmers to get back into race mode. BAAC will request volunteers from MSC and  FAST so please be on the lookout for a signup sheet.  This is also a great way for new parents to learn what swim meets are all about.

CBAC Meet @ St. Mary’s College- The team is slated to go to St. Mary's MD for a meet the weekend of October 20-21.  With the distance involved, Mariners have reserved a block of rooms at Hampton Inn, Lexington Park MD. Our personal HiltonLink to make reservations is:  http://hamptoninn.hilton.com/en/hp/groups/personalized/L/LPKMDHX-MST-20171020/index.jhtml

There are a limited number of rooms, to assure that the hotel can accommodate your family at the block rate, it is suggested that you book as early as possible. The hotel is 15-20 minutes from the pool. Please look for more info under our Meet Section and News Section to be coming soon.  This meet is open to swimmers ages 9 and up A time and slower.

Facility/PRACTICE PROTOCOLS –

Use of Gilman Facilities - Please remember we are guests of Gilman. Mariner Swimmers and their families should enter the pool only through the outdoor pool entrance door and not through hallways or gyms. Swimmers should only use the pool area and the lockers rooms; they should not wander into any other parts of the athletic facility.  Given that those areas are used by Gilman students (some being locker room areas), we want to protect everyone from any unfortunate incidents. Dogs are not allowed inside the pool area.   Please obey all parking signs while on campus and drive at safe speeds.

Any communication regarding your relationship with Mariners should be exclusive to Mariner Swim Club and therefore, Gilman should not be approached. Any communication between Mariner families and Gilman should be made through the Mariner leadership.

Practice Protocol – For safety reasons, siblings and parents are not allowed on deck at any time before, during or after practice. Please do not approach the coaches during practice while they are on the pool deck. Please do not approach your swimmer while they are practicing in the water. Our insurance coverage does not allow parents to be on deck at any time. If your question is related to registering for a meet, opting-out of a meet, the status of your account or any other administrative related questions, please contact Michell Cerny or Coach Lenore Cruz all of those questions. If you would like to meet with the coach, approach the coach before or after practice or send an email requesting an appointment.

Our website is the best location for updated information. It is www.marinerswimming.org. In the event that there is a last minute change to practice times (due to weather, power outage, other sporting events, etc), we will also send out a blast e-mail to the team.

If you have any questions about the above information, please don't hesitate to contact Coach Carl [email protected] , Coach Lenore [email protected] or Michelle Cerny

Thanks,

Mariner Coaches and Board
