October 29, 2017
Hello all Panthers,
I hope everyone enjoyed their break and you are all rested up and ready for the largest international school swim meet in Thailand!
Before we get all of our attention focused on the upcoming meet, lets take a moment to congratulate our swimmers for their fantastic fund raising efforts at our annual Swim-a-thon. This year we reached our target donation amount and still have some funds coming in this week.
So far, we have raised just over 125,000.00 baht for our team charities (2nd Chance Bangkok and Habitat for Humanity). We would also like to congratulate Proud Phisuthikul who is our top fund raiser with a whopping total of 33,600.00 baht. Well done Proud!
#1: We need more volunteers! Especially Sunday! If your child is swimming Sunday we need you to volunteer.
We still need 20 more volunteers! Without them we cannot run the meet on Sunday. This has not happened before and we have the largest team ever, so please go on line and sign up or email me and I can help.
#2: Swimfest pump party on Friday Nov 10th:
If you are swimming in the meet, you should be here to get your excitement pumped up through the roof. High School swimmers will be running the practice and yummy snacks after the big cheer off. Boys are current champions.
IASAS vs. APAC High School Swimming Championships (Nov 17/18th): Housing Needed!
ISB will be hosting a “first time ever” event here on Nov 17th & 18th. These two swimming conferences will be going head to head, all swimmers from each conference competing as two teams. This has not been done before. But it is a large task and they need us. If you would like to house one or more of these athletes then please follow this link to sign up (cut and paste).
Parent Lesson of the week:
Learning from a genius:
Here are 5 quotes from Albert Einstein to think about!
Keeping our girls in sports: Why do they quit?
I love watching my daughter swim, run and do just about anything that makes here smile. So when I read that facts about girls quitting sports, it makes me sad. By the end of Middle School half of the girls who played regular sport quit. We have to change that, here is an interesting article showing what we as parents can do to help.
