UPDATE 2017-2018 Para swimming Carding

Dear Matthew

Dear Coach Ian

Congratulations on your carding status! Swimming Canada met with Sport Canada with submissions for AAP funding for the 2017-2018 season, and your nomination was approved.

Congratulation on your performances from the 2016-2017 season. Based on your top performance, you have been approved to receive funding from the Sport Canada. It is important for everyone to understand that this funding is an investment in future performance and not a reward for past performance.

Matthew will be racing at the 2018 Canadian Swimming Championships in Montreal and also at the

2018 Canadian Swimming Trials in Edmonton

Dear  Matthew,
Dear Coach Ian,

Based on the 2017 World rankings and results from the NextGen Camps in October 2017, you are
being invited to participate in a NextGen train and race camp which will be held in Copenhagen,
Denmark. The camp will be led by Michel Bérubé, NextGen & Pathways Coach Paralympic. This
initiative is designed to present an international racing opportunity to a group of NextGen
swimmers. Pre-meet training will lay out some of the expectations to be found at the Senior
National team level. This will be an “in-season” training meet without rest planned. Swimmers need
to learn to compete at high level while in training.
