Fall Chinook Open Results

20 swimmers from the HRVST traveled to Astoria for the Fall Chinook Open the weekend of November 17th. Every swimmer saw a personal best, or tried a new event for the first time.

Placing first in a team high 5 events included Christopher Dankenbring (in the 100 yd back, 200 yd butterfly, 200 yd Individual Medley, 100 yd butterfly and 200 yd freestyle), Willow Hollowell (in 50yd freestyle, 50 yd butterfly, 50 yd breaststroke, 50 yd backstroke and 200yd freestyle), Skyla Hollowell (in 100 yd breaststroke, 200 yd individual medley, 100 yd butterfly, 200 yd freestyle, and 400 yd Individual Medley), and Nora Sandoval (in 100 yd backstroke, 50 yd freestyle, 500 yd freestyle, 100 yd freestyle, and 200 yd backstroke). These swimmers placed first in three events each: William Frost (25 yd freestyle, 25 yd butterfly and 25 yd breaststroke), Delaney Hackett (100 yd breaststroke, 100 yd Individual Medley, 100yd freestyle) and Gavin Hackett (100 yd breaststroke, 100 yd Individual Medley, 50 yd breaststroke). Placing first in one event included Aili Archbald (50 yd freestyle), Maya Arndt (100 yd backstroke), Sarah Arpag (50 yd freestyle), Jackson Bullock (50 yd backstroke) and Juliet Crain (25 yd breaststroke).

Leah Sandoval had the biggest time drop on the team of 16 seconds in the 100 yd backstroke. Isa Arndt was close behind with an 11 second time improvement in her 25 yd breaststroke. Sophia Kaden had a best time in the 100 yd butterfly with a 3 second drop. Allie Burke dropped time in the 200 yd breaststroke, while Chloe Carter dropped time in the 50 yd free and competed in three new events at the meet. Renie Spence dropped nearly 2 seconds in her 25 yd freestyle and swam 2 new events, Celilo Brun swam to a personal best time in the 100 yd freestyle, and Ava Giordano challenged herself and swam a new event in the 50 yd butterfly.

Next up for the Osprey is the Bend Winter Invitational December 2-3rd.
