December 5, 2017
We don't have any changes to the schedule this week.
No meets this weekend either!
Congrats to all the swimmers who went to Gaylord or to EGRA!
We had lots of fast swims, lots of fun, & in addition, we learn so much from competititon. The group at EGRA ended up 9th overall out of 21 teams, girls 6th, boys 15th &over 600 swimmers. At the Gaylord meet, team was 4th the boys were 2nd, girls were 6th with over 200 swimmers.
It is a family commitment to go to a meet, so all of the coaches appreciate the efforts of everyone.
Next up!sign up!!
Home meet-Pentathlon on the 16th. This is a great meet to "try it all". If you think your swimmer can handle all 5 events offered, please have them try. Most all of the ooaches will be on deck, so lots of eyes to see how they do!!
The next sign up is the FLY meet is a YMCA meet, which is the 1st weekend of January. If your swimmer is planning on going to the 8&under state meet or the 9&over state meet for the YMCA (different than USA, they have to attend 3 days of a YMCA meet) Please make sure you are signing kids up for these meets.
At the FLY meet, please stay at the team hotel (on the meet info page), or be prepared for a Saturday team gathering, as we are going to have a potluck with the MYST team and perhaps the RAYS team too. Swimming is more than just practice, pools and times; it's also about making connections with other teams/swimmers/families/coaches and having more than one reason to go to travel meets!!
All swimmers in any group can attend both of the meets just noted. Please remember that at travel meets your swimmer's events are paid by your family and billed to your account, one week before the event. There is a $15 fee charged per swimmer attending meets to cover some of the coaching costs.
