Happy New Year: 2018 weekly news

Happy New Year to all Panthers,

2018 is upon us, so please accept our best wishes to you and your family for an amazing upcoming year; in and out of the pool.

For this week you will go back to your regular squad (unless you age up soon) and we will see where the squads sit after our registration is finished. Please register as soon as possible so that we know our numbers.

We have a sad note to start off the new years also, coach Ann is making a change to Concordian and will be starting with them this semester. Her family will be allowed to attend the school where she is coaching so it is too good a deal to pass up. Best of luck Coach, see you soon.

Important Notes:

Tryouts for new swimmers runs this week; Monday – Thursday at 2:30 (50 m pool)

Tell all your friends!!

Registration is now open, register today!

Registration is open for the next two weeks, but this length of time is mostly due to new students trying out. If you are a returning swimmer, please sign up today so we will know exactly how many swimmers we have and we can straighten away our squads and coaches.

Volunteer fee payout option: If you don’t plan on volunteering please pay this fee so we can hire volunteers in your place:

I would like all members to make sure they read the clauses you are signing for the panther swim team. You will notice the last one, if you do not attempt to volunteer at anytime during the semester, you will be levied the 3000-baht volunteer “opt out fee” at the end of the semester. This semester we have added this fee to some members 2018 fees who have not volunteered and also not paid the opt out fee. We would really prefer not to do this; so can we please do our best to choose one of the two options provided.

But I also think it should be stated that volunteering your time is the back bone of this team. You become part of the team in deep way when you put on that yellow shirt and help the little ones out. Even a couple hours after school pushing and timing button helps us become a better team and a better community.

Thanks so much in advance for understanding.

Parent Lesson of the week:

I have never been a fan of New Years Resolutions, I would like to think that I am trying to improve at all times of the year…but it is still nice to take stock and set goals after the winter holidays are over.

Here is a great list of sporting parents goals for 2018: I am personally really going to concentrate on #3 :)

Also, please please remember that these are just good bits of advice for all parents across the board and across the world, I do not choose these based on any specific needs I see in our team. I believe we have an amazingly balanced swim community. We have fun, we swim fast and we want to come back to the pool tomorrow!
