End of the Season Practices and Championship Information

Practices for the remainder of the seasson:

Practice 1/8 is on but optional due to the weather.

Meet Tuesday at Fairfield

We will practice at our normal time (7:00-8:15 PM at PCY) on Thursday and all of next week, including Monday and Tuesday when swimmers are off school.

Swim and Dive Championships:

Championships are next weekend. There is one dive meet and two swim meets:

Junior High Diving Championships (Friday, Jan 19th-- details will come from Coach Wolkoff)

Junior High Swim Championships (Saturday, Jan. 20th at Countryside YMCA. Warm-up between 12:30 and 2:00; Meet start at 2:00)

JV Swim Championships (Sunday, Jan 21st at Walnut Hills High School (Walnut has not yet confirmed whether the meet will be in the morning or afternoon))

Swimmers: Swimmers will attend one of these two meets based on what will provide us with the most competitive line-up. Our entries are very limited for Saturday's meet. I will contact you through Team Unify by Saturday, January 13th to let you know which meet you will be attending. If you know that you have a conflict with either date, please let me know via email so that I can plan accordingly.

Championship Volunteers:

We need three volunteers for Junior High Championships on January 20th. We are asked to provide one official and two volunteers for timing. All volunteers receive free admission and the best view in the house! (It actually is a very crowded pool deck!)

I know it is difficult to volunteer without knowing which meet your swimmer will be attending, so if you'd like to volunteer with the disclaimer that you'll be there if your swimmer ends up attending that meet, that is fine and we can go from there!

Team Breakfast:

All divers and swimmers are invited to join in an end of the season breakfast before the Junior High Champs meet on January 20th. The Chu family has kindly volunteered to host us at their home (735 Stout Ave) from 10:15-11:30. We are putting together an online sign-up that can be used to volunteer to bring items for the breakfast or help out at the meal itself. I will share that info when it is ready.

Thanks for reading all of this, and let me know if you have conflicts with Championships or other questions. I am sure you will be hearing from me a lot over these next two weeks-- thanks for your patience with my many emails! =)
