March 25, 2018
Hello all Panthers,
All last week, and for the remainder of the swim season, the squad coaches and I will be working with every age group using our underwater camera system. It is our plan that each swimmer will get at least four sessions (all four strokes) with this amazing equipment.
Last week we recorded all 8 and under swimmers and worked on their butterfly. This week will be all the 9/10 swimmers. From 3:30 to 5:00 we will work with the MS and HS squads, so everyone gets an opportunity to see their strokes from this underwater perspective. It is a great aid for stroke improvement.
So please make sure that you are not missing your training sessions, these are perfect opportunities to make big technical improvements.
April holidays coming up: (feel free to train any extra days in April to make up for so many holidays:

“GVB Battle” (Girls vs. Boys Meet) Monday, April 2 2:45-4:30pm:
Concluding with a Head-to-Head Coaches Relay (Male coaches vs Female coaches), this fun in-house meet will be a good old fashion battle between the genders. For the past four years we have held a kick off meet and the score is boys 2-girls 2. So this year we are going to try something new. There will be one all ages relay to start off, then 25m and 50m sprints.
The deadline for this meet is this Thursday, March 29th. We need to make all age relays on Friday, so there will be no more additions after the deadline has passed.
We currently have over 130 swimmers signed up, so it should be good fun!

This is the best way ever to end the year, please make sure you mark this down on your calendar and come have some great fun.
Parent Lesson of the week:
How important is under water dolphin?
Watch Caeleb Dressel swim the first ever sub 18 sec 50 free (17.63). Even at this level, his underwater dolphin is longer and faster than anyone else. It is so important to learn this early. If you are on holidays and kids want to work on something in the hotel pool. Practice being a “merperson”…dophin kick all over the resort. It should become second nature at an early age!
Our coaches lesson of the week: this week you get to see what we are trying to do in our weekly lessons:
This week our coaches are reading this article and I have challenged them to add some spice to their squads
