Whittier Meet Summary & Week Ahead

Swimmers & Families,

Coach Holly:  Congratulations on our first meet of the season!  What fun it was to see everyone racing again!  I have to tell you that we had so little practice before that meet.  If kids didn’t do things legally, or if they struggled with longer distances, that’s 100% from a lack of practice.  I look forward to seeing how kids do in breaststroke & butterfly races when they’ve actually been taught how to do those strokes!  If your swimmer was discouraged, please let them know they WILL improve if they come to practice.  It will be a noticeable difference even as soon as next week, especially for new swimmers.  I look forward to seeing that.

Coach Robby:  Great first meet of the season!  I saw a lot of effort being put forth by all of our swimmers.  I enjoyed seeing the new swimmers trying out events and completing them with a smile on their face.  I’m looking forward to the next meet after our first full week of practices!  See you all bright and early on Monday!

Coach Reilly: Wow!  What an amazing first meet!  I’m so impressed with what everyone has accomplished already.  I’m so excited to see what the first full week of practice brings and how everyone does the rest of the season!

Coach Kayla: I’m so proud of everyone for completing the first meet of the season!  Coach Reilly and I watched all of the races and wrote down things that we will incorporate into practice this week.  I can’t wait to see everyone at Braddock!

Coach Lizzie:  First swim meet was definitely a success!!!  I was so proud to see my newest swimmers in their first meet ever and how well they did!  Everybody did awesome and I had such a fun time being around all of the kids!  I can’t wait for practice to start at Braddock this week so we can start focusing more on specific skills. Go Barracudas!

Coach Josh:  I’m very impressed with how everyone swam on Saturday, especially because it was the very first meet of the season and we haven’t had many practices.  Everyone looked great in the water!  Let’s keep up the good work throughout this next week and get ready for our meet Saturday morning!
