The Dalles Ted Walker Meet Report

The Dalles Ted Walker Invitational June 22-24, 2018

31 swimmers from the Hood River Valley Swim Team competed at The Dalles Ted Walker Invitational Swim Meet June 22-24th.

The Osprey were led by Michelle Graves who swam to 7 personal best times and every swim was a finish in the top 4. William Frost was close behind by finishing with 7 personal best times and every finish was in the top 6. Close behind was Jackson Bullock (5th place in the 400 free), Ava Giordano , Lauren Mack and Leah Sandoval with 6 best times. Swimming to 5 personal bests were Claire Couvreux (with 4 top 10 finishes), Max Graves (2 top 10 places) and Sophia Helleberg (top 10 finish in the 50 fly).

Swimmers with 3 or 4 personal best times included Elijah Adams (8 sec drop in the 100 free), Izaiah Adams (9 sec drop in the 100 free), Leah Adams (13 sec improvement in the 50 breaststroke), Aili Archbald, Maya Arndt, Chloe Carter (2 top 10 finishes), Matthew Couvreux (2 top 10 finishes), Jessica Galvez, Sophia Kaden, Marieda Kalahar (12 sec drop in the 100 free), Seth Millan (with a huge 33 second improvement in his 100 backstroke), Rhylie Van Matre (top 10 in the 50 free) and Max Webster.

This was the first swim meet for Andres Mercado, who competed in the 50 free and 50 breaststroke events.

All other Osprey had one or two events they swam to a personal best times in, and that included Amy Elliott (6th place in 50 breast), Jesse Elliott (with 2 top 10 finishes), Willow Hollowell (3 top 10 finishes), Grace Roulette, Raegen Van Matre (24 sec drop in the 50 free), Skye Weiseth (16 sec drop in the 50 backstroke) and Scout Wolfe who was competing in her first 50m pool.

Next up for the Osprey is the Howard Jones Memorial Age Group Invitational swim meet in Gresham July 6-8th.
