Weekly News (Sept 17-22)

Hello all Panthers,

Good morning, I am writing you today from Hong Kong as my son and I got caught in the huge typhoon this weekend. Hong Kong is in the middle of clean up and we have finally got a flight out tonight, so I will see you all tomorrow.

Great start to the season last week with our Kick Off Gala on Wednesday. Thanks to all the participants, volunteers and ISB staff that all helped to make an amazing mid-week event such a success.

Please also remember that this week is only a 3 day training week. Thursday and Friday there is no school for students and it is a activity free weekend for ISB. That means you are too relax and get caught up on your school work. It has been a fast start to the school year and you need to take this weekend and catch your breath.

Important Notes:

Panther Swim Team absorbing the ISB Learn to Swim program starting after October break (Super Jr. Panther Squads):

What does this means to ISB swimmers? It means that from now on, all swimmers from the very beginner levels will no longer have to go somewhere else to prepare themselves for the Panther Swim Team. Our Panther Swim Team coaches will run the program and work with the High School instructors as their assistants. This program will now concentrate on all basic stroke and racing techniques and will follow all drills and workouts done by the other 10 and under programs.

We will be accepting new “Super Jr. Panthers” after the October break, so you do not have to wait until January to join the swim team! In January all swimmers will sign up through the Panther Swim Team website.

Sign up at the CAO or online at the old Learn to Swim link (session 2 of learn to swim program).

For those that missed the Panther Kick Off Gala:

You can get your team shirts and cap from Coach Day any day at the 50m pool. Also, team swim suits are available for sale anytime (1000Baht).

Thanks so much for volunteer sign ups, you are the best!

I will be opening the Swimfest Volunteer list this week. This is the biggest swim meet for international schools in Thailand. Over 1000 swimmers each year!
