The Hood River Valley Swim Team Osprey hosted nearly 400 swimmers at their Fall Harvest of Gold Invitational Swim Meet. Swimmers from Bend, Redmond, Madras, Portland, Vancouver, Oregon City and Canby enjoyed the beautiful fall weather here in the Gorge while they competed.

For the Osprey, we had 11 swimmers compete in their very first swim meet! Congratulations to Cade Baker, Phoenix Bashans, Wyatt Byrd, Charlotte Fuller, Mila Lowery, Finnegan McQuade, Oceana McQuade, Andrea Romero, Oliver Salisgury-Cochran, Davina St Clair, Richard Stillwell and Emma Titus!

It was really tough to win events at this meet, but we have a few swimmers who managed to come up with a first place finish! Claire Couvreux won the 8 & U girls 50 yd freestyle, Michelle Graves was first in the 11-12 girls 100 yd breaststroke, and Rhylie Van Matre took top honors in the 8 & U girls 50 yd butterfly event. Way to race girls!

Swimmers who swam to 100% personal best times included Elijah Adams, Izaiah Adams, Max Graves, Sophia Helleberg, Kaiya Keeler, Lauren Mack, Seth Millan, Molly O'Neill, and Aimee Perez-Campos.

Swimmers with 5 or 6 personal best times at this early season meet included Sarah Arpag, William Frost and Willow Hollowell.

Swimmers with 3 or 4 best times included Isa Arndt, Maya Arndt, Christopher Dankenbring, Alyra Elliott, Lucas Elliott, Gavin Hackett, Raegan Van Matre and Celementine VanDeHey.

And our Osprey who flew to one or two best times included Aili Archbald, Jackson Bullock, Chloe Carter, Matthew Couvreux, Juliet Crain, Amy Elliott, Jesse Elliott, Miyuki Gerald, Ava Giordano, Delaney Hacektt, Skyla Hollowell, Leah Sandoval, Nora Sandoval, Wyatt Stelma and Skye Weiseth.

It is always exciting when every swimmer acheives at least one personal best time at an early season event, and all of our athletes did. Congratulations Osprey!
