Seth Dawson Report

The Seth Dawson Memorial Invitational swim meet was held at the David Douglas pool last weekend. Swimming for the Osprey were 22 athletes from around the Gorge.

Delaney Hackett swam to 6 personal best times including a big 24 second drop in her 500 freestyle. Swimming to 5 personal best times were Jackson Bullock who had a nice 2 sec drop best time in his 100 backstroke; William Frost who dropped 10 seconds in the 200 IM and achieved a few new state A qualifying times as well; Sophie Helleberg who also had her biggest drop in the 100 backstroke; Willow Hollowell who dropped 8 seconds off of her 500 free as she gets ready for the state meet; and Emma Titus who dropped nearly 5 seconds off both her 200 free and 200 IM events.

Swimming to 4 personal best times included Phoenix Bashans, who dropped 4 seconds on his 50 breaststroke; Skyla Hollowell who did a best time by nearly 4 seconds in the 200 freestyle; Oceana McQuade who had two brand new best times along with a 6 second drop in the 50 freestyle and Leah Sandoval who did a best time by more than 5 seconds in her 100 backstroke.

Swimming and dropping time in 3 events included Finnegan McQuade whose biggest improvement was in the 50 breaststroke and Clementine VanDeHey who dropped 8 seconds in the 50 breaststroke as well!

Other notable swims included Savannah Reeves dropping over 6 seconds in both the 50 back and 50 free; Nora Sandoval dropping 20 seconds in the mile; Angela and Michael Speakthunder swimming in their very first swim meet (!), Liam King having a great 50 free race; Sarah Arpag dropping 5 seconds in the mile; Max Graves taking off 3 seconds in the 50 back; Michelle Graves knocking 2 seconds off the 50 back; Gavin Hackett swimming to a personal best in the 100 fly; and Wyatt Stelma knocking off nearly 5 seconds in his 100 freestyle!
