Weekly News: IASAS Edition

Hello all Panthers,

This is a very exciting week for our team as we send our IASAS High School Team off to Manila for this year’s Swimming Championships.

12 boys and 12 girls will represent our school against the 5 other IASAS schools. This is the pinnacle of the swim season for our high school swimmers and ISB has always represented well during the meet, so if you see them around the pool or in the halls, give them a high five and wish them the best.

Thanks to all that have left notes on the good luck banner at the 50m pool and the ES classrooms that made individual posters for each swimmer. The team appreciates your support more than you will ever know.

Tuesday after school is a great time to stop by and say good bye and good luck to the team as they will be finishing practice right before 2:35 (see first bullet point)

Important Notes:

Send off for High School IASAS Team: Tuesday, January 29 at 2:30pm right before 10 and under practice:

The high school team will be practicing at 1:30pm on Tuesday (tomorrow). We will finish off with their IASAS relay teams right at 2:25 for all the younger swimmers to cheer on before they start their own practice.

Special Guests Visiting on February 11th for Swim Camp (England National Team Members):

English National Head Coach Mike Taylor and team members (5 in total) including Richard Nagy (Olympic Games Member and European Championships Medalist) will be visiting ISB to deliver an after school swim camp for our swimmers. There will be two sessions; 2:30-3:30 for 10 and under’s and 3:30 to 5:00 for 11 and over.  The National Squad will then do a training session at the 50m pool for us all to watch. If these are not your swim days then please make changes to your schedule this week so you can attend.

Travel meet to Singapore…Need swimmers to commit?

It saddens me to report that at this moment we do not have enough swimmers to travel to the Singapore swim meet. If you are considering it, please let me know. If you are not, then maybe you should.

We are way over half way there, here are the number of positions left to fill. We have plenty of swimmers on the team, this should be easy.
