Our swimmers did a great job this weekend in Corvallis!
Michelle was our high point scorer with 9 points – swimming to a 7th place finish in the 50 breast, 6th place in the 200 IM and 5th place in the 100 breaststroke! She also was 15th in the 100 fly, 12th in the 200 breast, and 10th in the 100 IM. She swam 100% personal best times, and achieved new Age Group Regional times in both the 200 IM and 100 IM. WOW!
Nora was close behind scoring 8 team points with an 8th place finish in the 500 free, a 7th place finish in the 400 IM and 4th place in the 1000 freestyle. She had a big drop in the 1000 freestyle for a best time and a new 13-14 girls team record! The past record was held by current professional triathlete Erin Jones, set in 2006. Great race!
Gavin swam to 5 out of 6 best times, including a 4 second drop in the 200 fly, 3 seconds in the 200 breaststroke, 1.5 seconds off both his 200 IM and 100 backstroke, and also knocked a little off his 100 breaststroke. Great swims all around Gavin!
Skyla swam best times 4 out of 5 events, and snagged a spot on our girls Honor Roll by swimming 100 yards freestyle under 60 seconds during a time trial on Sunday. She also dropped nearly 5 seconds in the 500 free, almost 3 in the 400 IM, 1.5 seconds off her 200 IM, and about a second improvement in both the 200 free and the 100 free. Great swimming!
Willow kept accelerating through the meet and ended up with personal best times in every event. She snagged an Age Group Regional time in the 50 fly while dropped a half a second, dropped 2 seconds in the 100 fly, almost 2 seconds in the 100 IM in a time trial, 1.5 seconds off her 200 IM, and a second off both the 50 and 100 backstrokes. Great work!
