Our young swimmers finished their season with some impressive swims this past weekend in Grand Junction. Whitney McManus, Alexander Conder, Gavin Boggs, and Eddie Zane competed against Colorado’s fastest swimmers at the Long Course State Championships. Eddie swam his 100 & 200 free with power and speed (a perfect combination). He dropped significant time in both, made finals in both, and raced tough! Gavin’s 200 Fly and 400 IM were beautiful, placing 4th in the fly and 8th in the IM. It was Gavin’s first long course 400 IM, yet he looked like a professional out there! Alex had an awesome 200 IM, and his 200 free was a pleasant surprise. Alex’s walls demonstrated exactly what we preach (fast in – fast out)! Whitney squeezed in a couple of swims before her family vacation. She set a coaching table record for quickest fingers on the stopwatch! All 4 of these young swimmers are accomplished IMers, with impressive skills in all 4 strokes. They are supportive teammates, happy athletes, and they are a pleasure to coach!
