Welcome to Swim Season 2019-2020!
Dear LAMVAC Family:
Welcome to the swim season 2019-2020. I hope everyone is getting an idea of how to tackle the challenges to achieve your goals, as we go into our third week of training. I also hope that you get to know more about your teammates and coaches. The year 2020 is an Olympic year. As such, I hope it’s getting our swimmer athletes excited, motivated and inspired to train harder and see how far they can go within the next ten months. To all our parents and guardians, I once again call on your unfailing support to promote your child or children’s progress in and out of the water. I appreciate the sacrifices you make—and sometimes even a little bit more—to teach our children, by example, perseverance and dedication and showing them that we believe in them.
Because we are a team, participation from everyone is very important. We deliver announcements primarily via email. It is imperative that you update your account information on our website current and accurate. Please make sure that the following information is current: emergency contact information, allergies, primary care physician, health insurance, T-shirt size and the rest.
As a team, we need to have team uniforms: competition suit, swim caps, parkas and T-shirts. We are currently arranging our team’s uniform and equipment vendor with SwimOutlet. An announcement will be sent out to all once our team store with SwimOutlet.com is live and team uniform-sizing day is scheduled. Our target date is Oct. 28 at Foothill College and Oct. 29 at Eagle Park.
We have team events happening very soon:
- Team Picnic, Sept. 21 3:30-6 p.m.
- Keller Cove Open Water Race, 7:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Richmond.
- 800 Free swim meet at Eagle Pool (for qualified swimmers) Sept. 29.
- Red and Black Meet at Foothill College, Oct. 18.
- Swimathon, Halloween party and Team Suit Sizing Day Oct. 28 at Foothill College and Oct. 29 at Eagle Park.
Our meet schedule is already posted on our website. If you haven’t already, please download the 2019-2020 Meet Schedule.
Welcome everyone! I am excited to see every single one of us continuing to work together, teaching our athletes tenacity and dedication and wishing them the best, as they pursue their goals in this especially exciting swim season!
