Hello all Panthers,
We have a busy couple of weeks coming up before we go onto the winter break. So there is a lot of information in the news letter, please read all of it...so sorry.
This week we will end off with the ISB Spirit Night on campus, then next week we have a packed week including Distance Time Trials on Monday, Snowflake Meet on Wednesday and then TRI-Kids on Thursday. So busy, but so much fun.
Winter Training Days:
These days are for MS and HS swimmers only, the little ones should take a rest. We will have one coach and one practice designed; therefore, all swimmers attending must be able to do this level of practice.
Practices take place at the 25m pool at 8:00am to 9:30am
Dec 21, 23, 27, 28 Jan 2,4,6,8 Winter Camp in Phuket Jan 10-12
Winter Camp Sign up closes on Dec 1.
Super Important: Team Photo Dec 4th
This year we will be taking our team photo earlier in the year. In the past we did this in March and we missed out having all of our swimmers in the photo.
We will take this photo next week on Wednesday, Dec 4th at 2:35 before the Snowflake meet on the bleachers at the 50m pool. Everyone please come wearing your black team shirt. If you have to take the photo and leave that is fine.
Spirit Night: ISB Varsity vs Patana Varsity:
Varsity Swimming (and some MS swimmers) will join rugby, touch rugby and tennis for a cross campus sports night. There will be food, fun and even a bouncy castle for all to enjoy. We will be swimming against Patana’s Varsity Team in an “Friday Night Lights Duel Meet” starting at 5:00pm at the 50m pool. This will end off with a 8 person 25m freestyle relay.
Jr. Panthers and above please compete in one meet next week: last time to get times before winter break:
Talk to your coach please and sign up for Snowflake meet (10 and under swimmers) or Long-Distance Time Trials (11 and over). Some swimmers will be swimming in both if they are ready.
ISB Up and Coming Young Guns:
For the most part, breaking records and winning gold medals is a very small part of the Panther Swim Team community. But at this moment in ISB swimming we feel there is a small group of 11/12 year old athletes making waves at such unbelievable rate that we feel it should get a shout out!
Gene, Pippen, Peak and Pow have been performing at a level not often seen in the international swimming world and never in the past here at ISB. Together they are breaking records by handfuls of seconds at times. At the National Qualifier two weeks ago at Patana, Pippen broke 3 school records by almost one minute.
Congratulations, keep up the hard work.
More Speeding Tickets:
High School swimmers Emma Kohler broke a 10-year-old 400 IM school and age group record by 9 seconds at IASAS Exchange in Singapore this past weekend.
Events to Sign Up For:
Long Distance Time Trials: December 2nd
Snow Flake Tri- Meet (for 10 and under swimmers) December 4th
January 10-12: 4th Annual Thanyapura Swim Cap (Phuket)
That is all we need to know about this week, see you on deck!
