We hope you are well and staying healthy! As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve we wanted to provide an update on how this situation may impact the summer swim season. As you know on March 30, Virginia Governor Ralph Northam issued an executive order directing all individuals in Virginia to remain at their place of residence, except as provided for in the order. The Order remains in effect until June 10, unless otherwise amended or rescinded. As a result, all Broadlands HOA pools will remain closed until June 10, unless the order is lifted early.
Practices were initially scheduled to start May 26, and will have to be postponed until the pools re-open. Additionally, the parent kickoff meeting that was initially scheduled for May 17, will also be postponed. The board will continue to meet on a regular basis and provide information and updates on the summer swim schedule.
The CSL League is also monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as they become available. Below is a message from the CSL League regarding COVID-19.
A message from the CSL League:
While we spend time with our family at home and face the unprecedented uncertainty of the COVID-19 virus, the Colonial Swim League (CSL) has received inquiries about the upcoming CSL summer swim season. We respectfully request you allow us time to make an informed decision as we thoroughly explore various scenarios over the coming weeks in virtual collaboration with our CSL Team Representatives. CSL is closely monitoring all evolving guidance and restrictions from federal, Virginia, and local governments, other swim leagues (local and non-local), school systems, USA Swimming, as well as CSL’s member neighborhood and club pool decisions. The health and safety of those involved in our competitive and fun swim community remains CSL’s paramount priority.
We sincerely wish you the very best and hope that you and your families remain healthy.
