Parks and Recreation Commission Meeting to Discuss Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center Replacement

On January 16, City staff presented three scope options to the Parks and Recreation Commission (PRC) comprising of varying sizes of lap pools and compositions of recreational elements. After staffs’ presentation and hearing comments from the public, the commission voted to recommend that Council adopt “Option 2” (a 10 lane - 25 yard x 8 lane - 25 meter pool with a larger recreational/ leisure pool) as the preferred scope. Subsequently, at a City Council study session on February 25th, Council directed staff to begin the Conceptual Design phase using “Option 2” as the scope.

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 7:00 p.m, The Parks and Recreation Commission will review three project conceptual designs for the Rengstorff Park Aquatics Center Replacement project to make a recommendation to City Council. All members of the Commission will participate in the meeting by video conference, with no physical meeting location.
