BLA update #2 May 27th

Just to be clear that yes there have been changes but as stated it is up to the facility on when they open. In my opinion the earliest I see a pool being open would be June 8th. That also gives us time to make sure that facilities are safe for the kids and coaches!
There have been revisions to Minnesota Governor Tim Walz executive order that are significant to resuming organized swim practice in pools on 6/01/20. Order 20-63 dated 5/27/20 contains new information regarding the use of pools by youth sports teams. Page 10, section xii states the following:

"If allowed by the facility owner and operator, indoor and outdoor pools may be used by Organized Youth Sports and Youth Programs pursuant to the requirements in paragraph 7.f and 7.g. Public pools must otherwise remain closed to the general public."

MNSI is continuing to advocate for the interests and safety of our members as  that are significant to resuming organized swim practice in pools on 6/01/20. MNSI is in the process of examining the order to determine best practice guidelines for clubs. We will send out more information to you as it becomes available.

Many thanks to the Governor's office and Commissioner Tarek Tomes for their actions in helping our athletes get back in our Minnesota pool facilities.

MNSI is continuing to advocate for the interests and safety of our members as we navigate forward through the pandemic. Please contact Executive Director Crunstedt if you have any feedback or input. Stay well.
