LAMVAC President's Update for June

LAMVAC Members,

Hope each of you and your families remain safe and healthy. Another month has flown by and while we were not able to dive in pool this past month, we all remain very hopeful for June. The Board met this week to discuss the current situation. A few updates for all:

  • LAMVAC will continue to waive dues for the month of June (Age Group and/or Masters).
  • LAMVAC will be paying our Coaches their current wages in June without having our Coaches sacrifice their sick/vacation pay. We received funding from the Payroll Protection Program (PPP). A special thank you to Celine Duran (Treasurer/Masters swimmer) for all her hard work on the application.
  • Practice continues to be cancelled with the Shelter in Place and will resume when possible.
    • Coach Jose shared LAMVAC’s social distancing practice logistics with Foothill College and the City of Mountain View when practice is able to resume. More details to come when available.
    • If you would like a non-pool workout, please reach out directly to Coach Jose or Coach Ed.
    • If you would like to discuss open water swimming options please reach out directly to Coach Jose.
  • Volunteer hours remain under review. When we are able to get back in the water the Board will review requirements and adjust as needed. If you have any specific questions on volunteering please reach out to Christie Heit.
