Saluki Workouts 7/9

 

Saluki Swim club has been out of the Rec since March 16. While there is no end to the lockdown in sight, we have been working out every day. Today at Little Grassy G4 did the following workout:

400m: easy

400m: 20 kick/20 drill/ 20 swim 1 round each stroke

300m: 20 strokes easy//  20 fast

600 m 20 free/10 sprint choice

600m: dist race pace

700m: 25 stroke cycles sprint/ kick easy 1 min.

400m choice

On Fridays at 8 AM G3 has been joining G4 for a fast set of 10x100 sprints.

Some swimmers have been doing backyard pool sets attached to a tether. Some swimmers have access to a public pool that may be open, Pickneyville, Herrin, Salem eg. The important this is that you keep your kids swimming. If you have access to a pool, lake, or summer team keep them going. Once we have a place where we can all swim together again we want your swimmer to be ready for it, not discouraged because they are not keeping up with the one that have been working out every day.

Saluki Swim Cub has also been providing Zoom dryland workouts 5 days a week, sometimes twice a day. This is another way your swimmer can stay in touch with their team mates and stay fit. As per USAS guidelines, the Zoom workout invitation are sent out the day of the workout and only go to currently active accounts.
