Swimmers & Families,
What a great time we all had on Saturday! It was so nice to be back at a “real” swim meet! Thank you to all of the parent volunteers – you created a wonderful experience for all of the swimmers. We couldn’t have done it without YOU. We also had a great turnout for the food drive and were able to donate over 200 items to the community food bank. Good job, Barracudas!!
For the swimmers, it really was like a first meet of the season. I noticed many ways we can improve, and we will focus on these areas this week. We will also have some fun, since it’s our last week of the swimming season.
Swimmers - if you have the chance to watch Olympic swimming this week, DO IT. There are some pretty amazing camera angles which show the different strokes so clearly. We can ALL learn from the greatest athletes in our sport, and this is a fantastic opportunity to do that. If you are a new swimmer, it will really help you to understand the strokes better when you see someone do it well. GO USA!!
In a usual summer, the season ends with the Divisional Meet for most swimmers, and the All-Star Meet for anyone who meets a qualifying time standard for it. Just for fun, these are the swimmers who would have qualified for the All-Star Meet (had it existed) at our meet this past weekend:
Thomas Hartinger - 50 Free, 100 IM, 50 Breast, 100 Free
Kayla Hodor - 50 Free, 50 Fly
Mairead Hoyt - 50 Free, 50 Back
Freddy Kolias - 50 Fly
Cami Quinn - 50 Breast
Brianna Remsberg - 50 Free, 50 Fly
Mahalia Sipek-Stern - 25 Free, 50 Free
Sam Sobota - 25 Free, 25 Back
Ben Tabor - 50 Free, 100 Free, 50 Fly
Oliver Wolf - 25 Breast
Luke Yeatman - 50 Breast
Zachary Zumbrunn - 25 Back
Nice job, Swimmers! I’m looking forward to next year!

On a personal note, the coaches are very grateful for all of the kind notes and generous gift cards we received. Thank you so much. There was one Amazon gift card I received with no name on it, so I won’t be able to properly thank you, but I want you to know I appreciate your gift.
