Cell Phone & Electronics Policy

Effective December 2010, the board has adopted the following policy regarding cell phones and electronic devices.  Please review this information with your swimmer(s).

  1. We encourage everyone to leave their cell phone and any other electronic devices at home.  If they choose to bring them, it will be at their own risk.   IHS policy in the Student Handbook states the “Loss, theft or damage to any electronic equipment is not the responsibility of the school” nor will it be the responsibility of Gators’ Swim Club.
  2. Cell phones and all electronic devices are NOT ALLOWED in the locker rooms at any time.  The Coaches will collect any of those items at the beginning of practice and handle returning them at the end of practice.
  3. For any other personal  belongings, we recommend students use their own personal lock if they  choose to use the lockers in the locker rooms.

Please note that there is a phone available in the pool area in case one of the swimmers need to call a parent/guardian; for instance, to call for a ride after practice.
