Frequently Asked
Questions
1. How many classes are there in one
session? What happens if I miss one?
There are 8 classes in a single
session. During the summer the lessons are Monday-Thursday for two
weeks. During the rest of the year, classes are either
Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday for four weeks. We will make
up one class per session. Make-up classes will only be granted in
the event of illness or injury.
2. What are your class sizes?
We only allow 5 students per
instructor. This way the students can have the most amount of time
possible working with their teacher. Any additions to this number
will vastly effect the materials that your child can learn.
3. Can I enroll after a session has
started?
As long as there are still open
slots, you are always welcome to register. The class cost will be
prorated for you automatically online.
4. How do I know which level to sign
up for?
On our website we provide information
on the various skills learned within each level. You are also more
than welcome to call or come by the pool. One of our staff members
is always happy to assist you in enrolling in the correct level.
5. What if the class I want is full?
I suggest putting yourself on the
Wait List. Your credit card will not be charged. This way, if a
spot does become available we will have all of your information
available to contact you. Although we cannot make any guarantees
that a spot will open, it never hurts to put your name in the Wait
List.
6. What if my child has to repeat the
level?
Before a child can even begin to
think about swimming, they must first overcome their fear of the
water. Joining swim lessons requires a student to become familiar
with a new environment, new people, new expectations, and being
away from their parent. This process may take some time, and varies
for all children. Once a child has overcome their fears, then they
can begin thinking about swimming and the skills they are being
taught. Please allow your child (and their instructor) the time and
space necessary for this to take place.
Some children may need to repeat a
level 1, 2, 3, even 4 times. Do not rush your child, they will
learn in their own time. It is more important for them to learn
skills the correct way the first time, than to be rushed through
the process and have to relearn skills later in the process. It is
our goal to move your child through the levels as quickly and
efficiently as possible.
7. Will my child learn to swim in one
session?
All children learn at different
rates, we will never put a guarantee on a child learning to swim in
a certain amount of time.
