The athlete committee worked hard last month to put together HOT HEATS for Junior Olympic Championships! These were randomly selected heats throughout the preliminary sessions of all four days in which the winner received a prize bag full of fun goodies donated by local and non-local businesses. It was very successful and a huge hit and we plan to do it again in the future!!!
Our Junior Rep, Megan McLaughlin has put together a Watch Party to support Lydia Jacoby and John Heaphy during Olympic Trails! You will be able to watch in-person at select locations in Anchorage or participate in a virtual watch party from the comfort of your home. We encourage you to wear your Alaska Swimming T-Shirts from earlier this year to represent the state and the sport as you cheer on our fellow swimmers!
In the near future the athlete committee would like to take part in more community service endeavors. If you have any ideas of what we could do to give back and make a positive impact on our community, please reach out to us at the email listed above ([email protected])!
Please feel free at any time to use the zoom link below to gather with fellow swimmers from around Alaska! It is open at all times so you can arrange meetings with your friends and competitors for fun hang outs.

Cookbook Recipe Submission:
Dear Alaska Swimming,
We have decided to take on a new project which will take lots of time, and which will require help from all of you. Throughout the next year we will be compiling an Alaska Swimming Cookbook which will contain recipes from our athletes, coaches, officials, parents, and volunteers (that means YOU).
We currently plan to accept submissions all summer, and begin printing in the fall so that the books will be available in time for people to have during the holidays. All profits from book sales will go to the athlete committee for future use benefiting swimmers around the state.
So, if you have a favorite healthy recipe (or at least somewhat healthy) that you and your swimmers love to eat, please submit it to be added to the book! We would love to see submissions from every club, and from any Alaska Swimming member, from volunteers to athletes themselves.
As there will be a cost for printing and shipping the books, we are also looking for monetary donations to help us cover the cost of production. If you or anyone you know of would like to donate please send an email to [email protected].
Thank you all and happy recipe hunting!
Lydia and Megan
