3/21/18 - Shenendohowa Aquatic Center, Clifton Park, NY


The Lake Champlain Waves Swim Team sent thirteen swimmers to the Adirondack Golds Short Course Championship Swim Meet : Olivia Barnett, Ella Garrow, Patrick Hagadorn, Alexis Hathaway, Maddy Lemza, Ella Manion, Allison McCormick, Emily McLane, Nick Palma, Alix Perras, Max Schaefer, Simon Thill, and Bailey Vanarman;of these, 95% achieved one or more personal best times, and 95% of them qualified for either the A or B finals.
Maddy Lemza earned a medal for 2nd place in the 100 yard breast stroke finals for women’s 13-14. Nick Palma won a 3rd place medal for the 50 yard freestyle men’s 13-14 finals.
Olivia Barnett,Maddy Lemza, Alix Perras and Bailey Vanarman each earned ribbons for placing within the top eight in various events.
The Waves were coached by Head Coach Randy Kelley, who was assisted by Coach Mike Hagadorn.

3/13/18 - SILVER'S MEET RESULTS - SUBMITTED TO THE SUN AND PRESS-REPUBLICAN

The Lake Champlain Waves swim team sent 30 swimmers to the Adirondack Silver Short Course Championships meet at  the Shenendehowa Aquatics Center in Clifton Park, NY : Andie Abdallah, Mia Biondolillo, Ashlyn Bola, Savannah Briehl, Allie Coupal, Gracie Coupal, Kasey Fuller, Annemarie Geiger, Emma Greene, Patrick Hagadorn, Ben Insley, Sophie Kabeli, Maddy Lemza, Annie Manion, Ella Manion, Allison McCormick, Emily McLane, Alix Perras, Alleigh Richards, Killyan Ruff, Max Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Maggie Sorensen, Simon Thill, Alexis Trombley, Chelsea Trombley, Bailey Vanarman, Chase Vanarman and Theadora Welch.

Many swimmers achieved personal best times at the meet. Swimmers who placed in their events were: Ashlyn Bola 4th in the Girls 13-14 50 free; Savannah Briehl  2nd in the Girls 13-14 50 free; Patrick Hagadorn 2nd in the Boys 11-12 100 IM, 2nd in the Boys 11-12 100 back, and 3rd in the  Boys 11-12 200 free; Ben Insley  4th in the Boys 13-14 200 free, 4th in the Boys 13-14 50 free, and 5th in the Boys 13-14 100 butterfly; Maddy Lemza took 1st in the Girls 13-14 400 IM and 2nd in the  Girls 13-14 100 butterfly; Annie Manion placed 8th in the Girls 9-10  50 backstroke, 6th in the Girls 9-10 50 breastroke, and 6th in the Girls 9-10 100 backstroke; Ella Manion  6th in the Girls 11-12 50 breaststroke; Allison McCormick 8th in the  Girls 13-14 100 backstroke and 6th in the Girls 13-14 100 butterfly; Emily McLane 4th in the Girls 15 & Over 100 free; Alix Perras took 1st in the  Boys 9-10 100 breastroke as well as 1st in the Boys 9-10 200 free; Max Schaefer placed 3rd in the Boys 11-12 100 free and 6th in the Boys 11-12 50 backstroke; Alison Silver 3rd in the  Girls 13-14 100 breastroke, 1st in the  Girls 13-14 50 free, and 8th in the Girls 13-14 100 butterfly; and Simon Thill 3rd in the Boys 13-14  100 breastroke.

2/14/17 - FEBRUARY FREEZE MEET (RPI) - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

On February 5th, the Lake Champlain Waves swam at the February Freeze Invitational hosted by the Delmar Dolphins, the last meet before the Championships in March which will conclude the Waves’ main season. Competing were: Andie Abdallah, Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Mia Biondolillo, Ashlyn Bola, Savanna Briehl, Zoe Briscoe, Sophie Brown, Allie Coupal, Grace Coupal, Madeline Dame, Meghan Davey, Kasey Fuller, Annemarie Geiger, Benjamin Insley, Sophie Kabeli, Brooke Kelley, Avery Kuhn, Madeline Lemza, Allison McCormick, Emily McCormick, Nicholas Palma, Alixander Perras, Jake Recore, Ryan Recore, Killyan Ruff, Maxwell Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Layla Sorenson, Margaret Sorenson, Simon Thill, Chelsea Trombley and Theadora Welch.

Kelley won 1st in 100 breaststroke and 100 butterfly, and 3rd in 200 IM, Lemza, Dame and Biondillo earned 2nd, 5th and 7th places in 500 freestyle, and Perras finished 6th in 100 yard backstroke.

2/2/2017 - CABIN FEVER MEET (BALLSTON SPA) PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

The Lake Champlain Waves swim team were represented by the following swimmers at the Cabin Fever Invitational meet hosted by Ballston Spa Swim Club on January 21st: Andie Abdallah, Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Mia Biondolillo, Ashlyn Bola, Savanna Briehl, Zoe Briscoe, Sophie Brown, Nicholas Bula, Emily Conners, Allie Coupal, Grace Coupal, Madeline Dame, Kasey Fuller, Annemarie Geiger, Patrick Hagadorn, Avery Kuhn, Madeline Lemza, Allison McCormick, Emily McCormick, Emily McLane, Alixander Perras, Maxwell Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Bailey VanArman and Theadora Welch.

Medals were awarded for 1st-3rd finishes and went to O. Barnett, Bula, Fuller, Hagadorn, Lemza, E. McCormick, Perras, Schaefer and VanArman. Waves swimmers earned 30 ribbons for placing 4-10 in various events.

1/19/2017 - STARFISH INVITATIONAL (TROY) & CHRIS GOODY IMX CHALLENGE (CLIFTON PARK) - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORTS SHORTS

The Lake Champlain Waves swim team recently competed in two meets, the Starfish Invitational in Troy and the Chris Goody IMX Challenge in Clifton Park.  

Attending the Starfish meet were: Andie Abdallah, Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Mia Biondolillo, Ashlyn Bola, Zoe Briscoe, Allie Coupal, Grace Coupal, Madeline Dame, Meghan Davey, Kasey Fuller, Annemarie Geiger, Patrick Hagadorn, Benjamin Insley, Sophie Kabeli, Brooke Kelley, Avery Kuhn, Abbigail Lapoint, Madeline Lemza, Allison McCormick, Emily McCormick, Nicholas Palma, Killyan Ruff, Maxwell Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Layla Sorenson, Margaret Sorensen, Simon Thill, Chelsea Trombley and Theadora Welch. Ribbons were awarded to top 8 finishers. Ribbon winners in various events were Hagadorn (2nd, 3rd, two 5ths and a 6th), Kelley (three 1sts and a 7th), Lemza (two 1sts and a 6th) and E. McCormick (5th, 6th and 8th).

Attending the IMX meet were Andie Abadallah, Brooke Kelley, Madeline Lemza and Bailey VanArman. Lemza was named 1st place overall among 13-year-old females, Kelley was named 2nd overall among 17-year-old females, and VanArman took first place in the 200 yard breaststroke among boys aged 11-12.

12/21/2016 - SHARKS 12&UNDER MEET - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

Union College, Schenectady, NY

Eight Lake Champlain Waves swimmers traveled to Union College to compete at the Sharks 12U meet hosted by the Saratoga-Schenectady Swim Club on December 17th: Ashlyn Bola, Kasey Fuller, Patrick Hagadorn, Ben Insley, Sophie Kabeli, Annie Manion, Ella Manion and Alix Perras.

Hagadorn earned three ribbons in the 9-10 age group, placing 4th in the 50 yard freestyle, 5th 100 yard Individual Medley and 7th in the 50 yard breaststroke. All swimmers posted personal best times. Waves coach Jay Ruff coached the meet.

12/14/2016 - UVAC MEET - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

Upper Valley Aquatic Center, White River Junction, VT

The Lake Champlain Waves had 37 swimmers compete at the Winter Classic meet hosted by the Upper Valley Aquatic Club December 9-11: Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Ashlyn Bola, Savanna Briehl, Nicholas Bula, Allie Coupal, Grace Coupal, Madeline Dame, Meghan Davey, Kasey Fuller, Annemarie Geiger, Patrick Hagadorn, Benjamin Insley, Sophie Kabeli, Brooke Kelley, Avery Kuhn, Abigail LaPoint, Madeline Lemza, Anna Manion, Elizabeth Manion, Allison McCormick, Emily McCormick, Emily McLane, Lydia Palma, Nicholas Palma, Alixander Perras, Jake Recore, Ryan Recore, Killyan Ruff, Maxwell Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Layla Sorenson, Margaret Sorenson, Chelsea Trombley, Bailey Vanarman and Chase Vanarman.

Swimmers who finished in the top 8 of their events won ribbons. Kelley posted three 1st place finishes along with a 2nd and 3rd. Lemza earned two 1st place finishes and added five more ribbons. N. Palma scored a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and three more ribbons. E. McCormick (4), A. Silver (4), Hagadorn (3), Dame (1), Kuhn (1), A. Manion (1), B. Vanarman (1) and C. Vanarman (1) all earned the number of ribbons indicated. All swimmers posted personal best times in many events. Head Coach Randy Kelley was assisted by coaches Amy Bonn, Erica Lindsay and Jay Ruff.

11/17/2016 - PILGRIM'S PRIDE MEET - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

The Lake Champlain Waves swim club sent 24 swimmers to the annual Pilgrim’s Pride meet hosted by the Adirondack Blue Fins in Troy on November 12th: Andie Abdallah, Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Ashlyn Bola, Savannah Briehl, Allie Coupal, Grace Coupal, Kasey Fuller, Benjamin Insley, Abbigail LaPoint, Emily McLane, Lydia Palma, Nicholas Palma, Adam Plaza, Anna Plaza, Jake Recore, Ryan Recore, Killyan Ruff, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Chelsea Trombley, Bailey VanArman, Chase VanArman and Theodora Welch.

Many best times were posted. Swimmers who earned points for the team in individual events were Nicholas Palma (59 points), Alison Silver (6 points) and Ashlyn Bola (2 points).

10/25/16 - TRICK OR TREAT MEET - PRESS-REPUBLICAN SPORT SHORTS

The Lake Champlain Waves had 28 swimmers compete in the annual Trick or Treat Meet hosted by the Schenectady-Saratoga Swim Club in Troy on October 21st-23rd: Andie Abdallah, Olivia Barnett, Sydney Barnett, Ashlyn Bola, Nicholas Bula, Emily Conners, Allie Coupal, Gracie Coupal, Kasey Fuller, Benjamin Insley, Maddie Lemza, Annie Manion, Ella Manion, Emily McLane, Lydia Palma, Nicholas Palma, Adam Plaza, Anna Plaza, Jake Recore, Ryan Recore, Killyan Ruff, Max Schaefer, Alison Silver, Marissa Silver, Layla Sorenson, Maggie Sorensen, Bailey VanArman and Chase VanArman.

Many swimmers posted personal best times. Swimmers finishing in the top ten in individual events were: Maddie Lemza - 8th in 100 breaststroke, Annie Manion - 10th in 25 backstroke and Nicholas Palma - 1st in 100 backstroke, 2nd in 50 freestyle, 4th in 100 I.M., 5th in 50 breaststroke.

The 10-Under girls finished 7th in the 200 freestyle relay (Fuller, M. Silver, L. Palma & A. Coupal); the 11-12 girls finished 7th in the 200 freestyle relay (Bola, A. Silver, S. Barnett & M. Sorenson); the 11-12 boys finished 3rd in the 200 freestyle relay (N. Palma, B. VanArman, Insley & Schaefer); and the 13-Up girls finished 10th in the Medley Relay (Lemza, O. Barnett, McLane & Ruff).
