Due to the 2019-2020 outbreak of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), this policy has been developed and adopted by the Board of Directors of New Hartford Aquatics, to adhere to USA Swimming, New York State and Oneida County Health Department Guidelines.
To reduce the extent to which coaches, swimmers, and parents may come in contact in confined spaces, NHA has adopted the following policies:
·To allow for distancing between athletes, the total number of swimmers per lane is not to exceed 4
·Water bottles must be labeled with a first and last name
·Snacks are prohibited unless needed for medical reasons. In this instance, food must be kept with an individuals belongings, and all garbage must be carried out with the swimmer at the end of practice.
·Parents will not be permitted to enter the facility
·Swimmers will only be allowed to use the restroom/locker room in an emergency situation
·Swimmers will not be allowed to change into their swimsuits or street clothes at the facility. All athletes must arrive ready to get in the pool.
·Swimmers must sign in, and complete a short health questionnaire before being allowed to enter the facility for practice.
·Swimmers must wear face coverings until they are at their designated lane to enter the water.
·When on the pool deck, swimmers must maintain a distance of at least 6 feet from teammates/coaches.
·Coaches must wear face coverings until actively coaching and/or lifeguarding.
·In the event that the pool must be cleared due to inclement weather, swimmers and coaches must exit the facility.
·In the event of suspected contact with a COVID-19 positive individual, coaches, swimmers, and parents will be notified within 24 hours via email.
