Do you like working with school-age kids? Do you have some competitive swimming experience?

The Haines Dolphins Swim Team is actively seeking applicants for a part-time Head Coach, to begin duties in the 2020-2021 swim season. We are looking for an enthusiastic coach who can make swimming fulfilling and relevant for both competitive and recreational swimmers.

Successful applicants will have: a competitive swimming background (preference will be given to those with coaching experience and current USA Swimming Association certifications); computer skills; and be able to work independently, motivate and communicate well with swimmers as well as parents, and have experience in conflict resolution and childhood development.

A successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and able to work independently and also within dynamic situations. An ability to implement a drylands program is critical for older age-group simmers. Willingness to follow all current USA Swimming health mandates is a must. Our coaches not only train swimmers for competition, but also instill in them a strong work ethic, self discipline, sportsmanship, team work and good health habits.

The position is paid for a minimum of 25 hours a week and includes on average 20 travel days per season. The The HDST season runs from late August to mid-May.

Salary DOE, starts at $1850/mo. plus a $1500 successful-end-of-season-completion bonus. Opportunities to earn outside HDST include private swim lessons, stroke programs, a Masters program, and life guarding.
