2020 Swim A Thon

The time of year has arrived for the JCCS primary fundraiser, the Swim-A-Thon.  Our goal is to raise $10,000 to help cover the costs of purchasing new training equipment for the team, lane rope replacement, and travel meet expenses.  This year the Swim-A-Thon will be held on January 12 for US/National with a delicious breakfast following the practice and PA/Allegheny/Pittsburgh will be January 13th during practice and the kids will have a cookout following a practice.

The kids will be receiving raffle tickets for each $25 raised and a bonus ticket for each $100 raised.  All swimmers participating in the event will receive 1 raffle ticket.  The baskets will be raffled at the end of season banquet and the kids will receive their tickets there.

We are still working on bringing in donations to make these baskets great for the kids.  I have attached letters that could be brought to businesses to ask for product donations.  Any swimmer bringing in items to be used in the raffle baskets will also be awarded tickets in the value of the items.

The other letter is for corporate/business sponsors.  If any family has a business or knows someone who does, and would like to become a team sponsor the swimmer that brings in the business sponsorship will also receive tickets for the amount of the donation.  Business partners will receive advertising based on the amount in the form of heat sheet ads in The Classic, website ads or banners to hang at our home meets.  Business partner checks can be given to Al Rose or mailed to 305 Sharon Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15221

The 3rd attachment is a swimmer pledge sheet.  The holidays are a great time for swimmers to be able to ask family members to support them in the Swim-A-Thon.  You can use the sheet to track the pledges that the swimmer receives and money can be collected at the time of the donation or anytime before the pledges are due Monday, February 3rd.  Per the JCCS Handbook, each swimmer is expected to participate or make a minimum contribution of $50.  Swim-A-Thon money can be brought into the pool with your swimmer and handed to a coach or to Staci Eiben or Laura Sindhi.  Checks can also be mailed to Laura Sindhi at 5308 Pocusset Street Pittsburgh, PA 15217.

I realize this is a lot of information but if you have any questions email or text Staci Eiben at 724-708-4984.

Thanks on behalf of the Swim-A-Thon committee,

Staci Eiben
