History of the Team:
As soon as the Anthem Community Center began digging a hole to make their pool, the process had begun to bring a USA swim team to the North Valley/ Anthem area.
The team, under Coach Axel, began in early 2000 as a recreational team swimming year round. It didn't take long to make the jump to USA swimming and the team began to have success right away.
By the mid-2000's the team was bringing home multiple awards and trophies thanks to young swimmers like; Zack and Toby Birnbrich, Brian Moore, Izzy Milazzo, Cassie Badalamenti and Andrea Derflinger. As these swimmers continued to improve so did the team.
In 2010 the Dolphins took first place in the AZ regional meet. Many of those swimmers above went on to swim in College and in 2012 Brian Moore made the Olympic Trials in the 200 and 400 Freestyle.
In 2011 Coach Axel and his family moved out of the state and the team was taken over by the assistant coach for a short while.
In November 2011 Coach Scott Newell was brought in to rejuvenate the program.
In 2013 the team won the SCY regional meet in Phoenix and then won the summer 2013 LCM Regional meet in Kingman. Also in 2013 the SR program had their best SR state finish and the team grew to over 20 - 15 over SR swimmers.
2014 is off to a great start! Winning the 14 and under SC regional meet again this season and having our strongest showing at AZ SR state EVER! With 2 current and 2 former Dolphins making Sectional cuts Congratulations to Emily Martin, Krista Kolkebeck,Holly Kolkebeck, and Katie Moore for making it to NW Sectionals.
In the Sumner of 2014 the team had even more success. The Ag team did great showing well at the State championships and taking 3rd behind 2 of the states largest teams at the LC regional meet. Again we took our largest summer SR team to state finishing 10th overall. We had 10 swimmers qualify for the SR zone meet in California and 8 of them made the trip. AG swimmer Caitlyn Sauer-Newell also was one of only nine swimmers from the state to swim in the AG Zone meet in Federal Way, WA.
2015 we had multiple swimmers attend sectionals and had many swimmers continue their swimming career at the college level! We had many former dolphins swimming in some of the biggest and fastest meets in the country!
For Age group we had one of our swimmers JC LoVullo WIN The 50 free and state and finish second in the 100 free
So far in 2016 we had 3 swimmers attend the Futures meet at Stanford and 3 swimmers attended AG Zones in Utah.
Emma Sayers won the 100 butterfly at state as well this season
