Snow Sharks Train at Flagstaff High School

This Swim Team is F. I. T.
Flexible - create your season of swimming
Inclusive - no one sits on a bench on a swim team
Total - total body workout with little risk of injury

  Team Structure:
The team is divided into the following workout groups. Black, Gold, Silver and Bronze teams and train concurrently, but differing amounts of time in the water, based on age, experience and goals.
This gives your swimmer(s) the optimum for both stroke technique and endurance work.
  • The Black  team is the fourth level, the elite group of the competitive swim team. This group continues to focus on technique and has qualifying times for Age Group State, Senior State, Sectionals and above.
  • The Gold Team is the third level of the competitive swim team. Continuing to work on technique and working toward qualifying times in JO's Age group/Sr. State
  • The Silver team is the second level of the competitive swim team. Focusing on proper stroke technique in coordination with endurance and water-strength work.
  • The Bronze team is our first level of the competitive swim team. Focusing on proper stroke technique in coordination with endurance and water-strength work.

Younger swimmers will focus on correct stroke technique, and with age it will remain an emphasis in their training. Practicing a skill incorrectly does not lead to fast swimming and can cause injury. Therefore, we do not move swimmers through the program until the coaches agree on the transition. The coaching staff makes sure your swimmer(s) is ready technically, physically and mentally before moving him/her up to the next level. We do use skill sheets for the Minnows and Intermediate levels and try to test about every four weeks.

Our club is a USA Swimming year round competitive swim team offering high quality professional coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. We are the only USA Level 1 Recognized team in Northern Arizona. The goal of our team is to provide every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at his or her level of ability, from novice to international competitor.

All of our coaches, as members of USA Swimming, have access to the most comprehensive training and certification program for youth coaches of any sport in the United States. They provide assurances that the time children spend in swimming will be quality time.

The Flagstaff Snow Sharks Swim Team, a non profit club, is run by its elected Board of Directors which meets each month. All members are welcome at each meeting and encouraged to be involved in team activities and fundraisers.

We are constantly growing and training young swimmers to maintain a well rounded competitive swim team. Thank you for joining us. We are looking forward to meeting you. Please feel free to ask another member or coach any question you may have.  Our mailing address is:
