1) Introductions
(Get to know one another,

bond. Take attendance)

1) Fast review of week 1.

2) Basic Water Safety
( No running on deck, no letting go of the wall, no swimming alone, no splashing, no diving in the shallow end etc.)

2) Front floats assisted. (Hold them under their armpits towards you, tell them to get in a airplane position, encourage them to put their faces in.)

2) Freestyle kick.
(Out of the water, on the wall, with a board, with a noodle, and in your arms or hands with support)

2) Introduction of “arm circles” in and out of water. (Say “Hi to the Birdies and Hi to the Fishies.”

3) Water Intro in Kiddy pool- Rings/ Fun.

3) Back Floats assisted.

3) Backstroke Kick
(Out of the water, on the wall, with a board, with a noodle, in your arms.)

3) Front Crawl and Back Crawl Introduction. (Freestyle and backstroke assisted and unassisted.)

4) Bobs/ Head/ Face Submersion.
(Open Eyes under water.)

4) Streamline/ Glides on stomach and back. (w/o kick)
(With or without support, encourage without.)

4) Streamline glides on back and front WITH KICK.
( See how far they can go w/o breaking streamline, blow bubbles)

4) Introduction to side breathing.
(Only if ability and time allow)

5) Bubble Blowing. (On the wall and off)

5) Deep water introduction. (Jump in and play in the dive well. Take them off the wall. Let them tread for a second or two if able.)

* The above is used just as a guideline. Coaches discretion advised. Some classes will be more elementary/ advanced then others. Go at the appropriate pace for each class, but focus on the above order and process.
