Comp Team

$18-$25 per hour DOE

Assistant Swim Coach (Palmer Pool)Northern Lights Swim Club is seeking an Assistant Swim Coach at it's Palmer location. Candidates should be comfortable working with children ages 5 and up, and will be required to pass a background check. Applicants are required to submit a resume and three references. A background in competitive swimming is a plus.  Interested applicants must:
  • be an inspiration to, and inspired by the children with whom they will be teaching.  
  • be a problem solver who is able to come up with fast solutions to issues/problems that arise.
  • be nurturing, energetic, mobile, and have a sense of humor.
  • have (or be willing to attain) CPR, first aid, and lifeguard certifications.

    Candidates will be asked to work 4-6 hours per week, plus swim meets. Compensation is negotiable and will be based, in part, on previous experience.

Learn to Swim

$12-$20 per hour DOE

Instructor Positions Available - Looking for enthusiastic, engergetic people who like workig with children.  Must be comfortable in the water.  References and Resume a must!  We train all hired instructors.  Perfect job for anyone, looking for a small part time position.
  • UAA Pool - Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, and Friday 4-5:30p schedules are ongoing.
  • Service Pool - Monday/Wednesday, Tuesday/Thursday, and Friday 4:30-6p schedules are ongoing.

Learn to Swim

$1100-$1500 per month DOE

Learn to Swim Director WantedNorthern Lights Swim Club (NLSC) is accepting resumes for Director for it's Learn to Swim and Stroke School program. The program runs at UAA and Service Pools. The Director operates the swim lesson and stroke school programs including:  
  • hiring, firing, certification, and supervision of staff
  • advertising, public relations, and promoting the program
  • communications with staff and clientele
  • adhering to the curriculum and providing high quality instruction
The time commitment will roughly break down into:
  • 6-7 hours a week of on deck Program Director related duties
  • 5-6 hours a week of Program Director administrative duties
Supervisory experience is preferred as is experience and/or knowledge of competitive swimming and swimming lessons. Applicant should be energetic, enthusiastic, firm but fare, and have strong verbal and written communication skills. The position will be filled by someone who is able to work well and communicate with coaching staff, facility staff, lesson staff, and parents.

This position is part-time, but has opportunity to expand beyond it's current parameters. All applicants must pass a background screening check. $1100-$1500/month, DOE.
