BEACH 1

This group’s main focus is becoming “race ready” through kicking and technique. Starts, turns, and racing habits are enforced to ensure they are maintained up the BCS ladder.  Beach 1 competes at the novice level, sticking mostly to the Pacific Committee Red/White circuit, with the goal of transitioning to Blue/Red competitions.

75% attendance is encouraged.

BEACH 2

Beach 2 competes at the Blue/Red level, with a major emphasis on stroke instruction and race development.  Kicking and drill work are stressed, but training sets are introduced each day.  Goal setting is a must, but the emphasis is on creating process-driven swimmers.

75% attendance is encouraged.

BEACH 3

Beach 3 competes at the Blue/Red level, and strives to compete at the Age Group Championship level.  There is a shift in intensity, with technique still being the primary focus.  Swimmers are encouraged to hold themselves accountable for any missed workouts, and strive for continued success in Southern California Swimming.

75% attendance is encouraged.

BEACH 4

Beach 4 strives for development of technique and training habits.  This [11-13] group begins to shift from a technique focused plan to a “learn to train” plan, preparing them to compete at the Age Group Championship level. Not being parent dependent is a major goal for this group.

85% attendance is encouraged.

BEACH 5

Beach 5 is our highest [11-13] age group level.  Although there is still a large emphasis on their technical development, the focus has shifted to a periodized plan that prepares them for continued development in the Southern California Swimming scene. 

85% attendance is required, and has multiple JO cuts.

SENIOR 1

The Senior 1 group is our first level for 13+ year olds.  The goal is to prepare them physically for High School, other sports, or Senior 2 - depending on the goals discussed with their coach. Their swim development will be highly focused on a well-rounded plan of technique, aerobic, and anaerobic work.

There is no attendance requirement for this group (unless competing), but 75% is encouraged.

SENIOR 2

Senior 2 is the first introduction to high performance training.  Time management, communication with the staff, and heightened kinesthetic awareness are the goals for the group. 

80% attendance is required, and they must attend competitions.

SENIOR 3

Senior 3s are working towards becoming regulars in the Southern California Senior swim circuit.  These swimmers are working towards the mental/physiological preparation needed for eventual success at the national level. The goal is to have a full line-up of Summer JO and Senior Development Cuts.

Maintain 85% attendance as well as a weight room commitment.

SENIOR 4

The Senior 4 athletes have chosen swimming as their primary sport, and take the training regime to a higher level than the Senior 3s.  This group must attend all competitions and have 13-14 Spring JOs, and are working towards a full line-up of Sectional Cuts.

Maintain 90% attendance as well as a weight room commitment.

HIGH PERFORMANCE

The High Performance group has their Sectional Cuts, and are working towards attaining their Futures/Junior National Cuts & beyond.  They have committed to swimming as a sport, and are preparing for collegiate swimming.

Attendance and weight room commitment is mandatory.
