On July 1, 2019, new rules came into effect through Rowan’s Law, to improve concussion safety in amateur competitive sport.
Parent and athete obligation is to advise if a concussion or suspected concussion to their direct Marlins Coach/Head Coach/General Manager. The Marlins has a requirement and protocol to protect athletes and will require any athletes suspecting a concussion to seek medical attention and will be removed from all physical activity with the Marlins. In order to return to swimming or activity within the Marlins, it will be required to follow the medical requirements via a doctor and a medical note must be provided in order to return to sport.
this affects all coaches, athletes and officials that participate in any activity for the club. As part of registration, all members have agreed to alert the club of any potential concussion and will abide by the club's concussion protocol.
