Junior Stingrays

Junior Stingray – Learn to Swim Developmental Program

Junior Stingrays is a learn to swim developmental program. Swimmers can progress at their own pace, from learning the fundamentals to developing more advanced skills.

Our goal is to promote and enhance swimming opportunities for our youth. The Stingray philosophy is that a strong basis of good strokes is the best start a young swimmer can have. More often than not, the stronger strokes a swimmer has, the easier it is for them to progress.

The Junior Stingray Program provides an introduction to the basic swimming strokes and swimming skills, such as diving and turning. Experienced coaches will oversee the program to help younger coaches and swimmers develop properly and reach their full potential. Technical skills, fun, and self discovery are the main goals of this program. Swimmers will start off in the wave pool where the water is warm and the pool is relatively shallow. Because all swimmers will be ‘Stingrays’, they can easily be moved to and from the deep pool as skills improve.

The Junior Stingray swimmers are members of the Sherwood Park Swim Club and enjoy the many benefits of being associated with Swim Alberta. This includes insurance, access to club functions and eligible participation in one sanctioned competition per season. Please join us in the Junior Stingray Program!
