LRC POLICY UPDATED: AS OF SEPTEMBER 29, 2021
LRC REP POLICY DOCUMENT IN PDF
Over the weekend the Province updated information on the REP guidance that provided clarification on staff, coaches, volunteers for youth sport activities. After review of the document https://open.alberta.ca/publications/covid-19-information-requirements-for-restrictions-exemption-program, it indicates that:
· Coaches, instructors, trainers, referees etc. for youth activities, who are 18 years or older, are subject to the public health measures or REP requirements in the facility. (pg. 7)
Based on this new information we will adjust as a REP operator. Starting Thursday, September 30th all coaches, instructors, trainers, referees etc. of youth activities, who are 18 years of age or older, that are accessing REP facilities will be screened. When entering the LRC and/or Alex arena, these members must provide one of the following:
- Proof of Vaccine – 1st doses must be 14 days prior to accessing the facility or service
- Negative Covid-19 test within 72 hours of accessing the facility
- Medical Exemption Record
- ID (18 years and older)
I have included the updated Rec Check information Package for your reference which includes further clarification on the REP program such as youth-specific (12-17 years of age) sports exemption, Fast Pass information, spectators and accepted documentation at REP facilities.
LEDUC RECREATION CENTRE UPDATE AS OF SEPTEMBER 28, 2021
The following was sent to us from the LRC facility and should be followed as stipulated.
“U18 participants are exempt from providing proof of vaccination as well as their coaches. We'll do what we can to limit proximity to adults in the same space.
There is a “Rec Check Station” at both entrances that you will need to pass through. Everyone will just need to let the attendants know the following:
I am here to attend/coach Tritons Swim Club – a user group within the Aquatic Centre that has been granted approval to exempt all U18 participants and coaches from providing proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative Covid test.
Any parents, spectators or participants who are over 18 WILL need to provide proof of vaccination, medical exemption or negative Covid test before being allowed entrance. Masks are required by everyone in the building except participants on deck and in the water. This means coaches and spectators will need to be masked. We are also encouraging physical distancing but it is not required under the REP. ”
