Barrie Trojan Swim Club Officials
The Barrie Trojan Officials Committee is a group of individuals who are committed to ensuring our hosted swim meets and those our team are invited to are adequately staffed in order to provide an efficient and enjoyable experience for all participants. It is common for a swim meet to require in excess of 32 volunteers per swim session.
Many meets our swimmers will compete in have 7 sessions over a 3 day weekend. Each session requires volunteers of various qualifications in order to commence. Your officials committee is in place to provide the necessary opportunities to become qualified officials through scheduled clinics and online clinics offered by Swim Ontario. New families to the club are encouraged to spend some time learning more about the officiating process by attending these sessions.
There is no better place to be than on deck at a competitive swim meet. It is one of the few sports where our children get the opportunity to swim in the same pool (and on rare occasions the same heat) as Canada’s future Olympians. As an official, you get a front row seat to incredible competition as the Barrie Trojans take on the best swimmers across the region, the province and the country. The team needs volunteers and the officials committee is ready to help provide the training and guidance to move you “up the ladder” as a qualified official.
