Assessments for New Members:

  • For new Age Group (Youth) swimmers, an assessment will be required to place you in the appropriate group.
  • We will be running assessments on Tuesday, September 3, Wednesday, September 4, Thursday, September 5, and Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Vancouver Aquatic Centre between 4 and 5:45 pm.
  • Assessments will be ongoing throughout the season on Tuesdays and Thursdays between 5:30 and 6:00 pm. beginning September 10, and continuing throughout the season. To schedule an assessment, please contact Coach Khosro at khosro@canadiandolphin.ca.
  • SOME OF OUR GROUPS ARE FULL. PLEASE COME FOR AN ASSESSMENT BEFORE REGISTERING.

Our 2019/2020 Season START DATES:

Wednesday, September 4: Elite 2 Junior and Senior, Western/YNG only. Practices this week (Wednesday, Thursday, Friday) will be from 4:30-6:00 pm, no mornings.

From Monday, September 9, all groups will start their normal schedules, including morning practices where applicable. Please refer to your group's practice schedule below.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT GROUP ASSIGNMENTS FOR RETURNING AND NEW SWIMMERS:

  • Each group has stated standards, but it is up to the coach's discretion to include a swimmer who has not reached those standards, if the coach feels that the swimmer would be able to train at the level of the group assigned.
  • The goal is to make the groups homogeneous so that the training will be the most efficient for each level.  Attendance will be a major factor;  if there are restrictions such as school or other activities that may interfere with a swimmer making it to practice at all or on time, the swimmer may be assigned to a group that better fits the swimmer's schedule. In this way the swimmer will be able to work towards the swimmer's goals and not miss significant times in his/her training, thereby giving the swimmer the best chance of success.
  • Please note that Western/YNG swimmers must go through an interview in September once they have registered.  Swimmers in this group must meet the attendance and meet goals in order to continue in Western/YNG in 2019-2020.
