COBRA Jr. Swim Club Pre-requisites
Swimmers must be able to successfully swim 25 meters on front or back. Energetic 10 & unders with Lifesaving Society Splash 6 is the recommended swim experience necessary to join the Jr. Swim Club.
Proper technique and stroke development in freestyle and backstroke will be a focus at this level. The children will also learn the basics of breaststroke kick and breaststroke arms separately. Racing turns and diving are introduced. Ratio starts 5:1
Freestyle and backstroke continue to be taught with concentration on kicking and swimming endurance. Breaststroke is introduced with the focus being on the timing of the stroke. The children will also learn the basics of butterfly arms and butterfly kick separately. The instructor will focus more on the technical aspects of breaststroke. Ratio 7:1
With an endurance swim of 400 – 600 meters, children will learn racing pace, racing techniques, and be introduced to racing strategies. The instructor will focus on encouraging proper technique while swimming speed. The individual medley will be introduced with the focus on swimming the four competitive strokes in correct order. Competition is encouraged and evaluated at swim competitions. Ratio 12:1

$667 per swimmer for 32 one (1) hour classes-One payment;

Non – Resident Fee
Please be advised a surcharge fee of 50% per person per program, up to a maximum of $100.00 (non-competitive fee), will be added to the registration fee of all non-residents. This fee applies to both competitive & non-competitive COBRA programming and is paid to the City of Brampton. Proof of residency may be requested at time of registration. For the purposes of this section, City of Brampton rate payers are considered residents.
There are no refunds for the Jr. Swim Club program after December 21st, 2017. Refunds granted prior will be minus the Swim Ontario and administration fees. Full refund will be awarded only if an athlete is withdrawn before the first class of the season. Please be advise there are no make-ups for classes missed due to absence of an athlete.
