The James Sidhu Bursary is to commemorate and remember an important member of the CRKW swim community/family: James Sidhu, a young man, who was taken from us suddenly on November 8, 2014: he was 16.
James was the youngest of 3 children and full of life. James was always the one with the most beautiful smile and the best story to tell. He loved swimming. He loved being a part of CRKW. James identified himself with being a Killer Whale as well as a competitive swimmer. CRKW was family to James. He was kind and patient with the younger swimmers. CRKW brought out the best in James and it was a place that James could be himself. Swimming kept him grounded at a time that most teenagers feel lost. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him well as well as by those who were just getting to know him.
The recipient of the James Sidhu Bursary will possess similar qualities: in their teens, kind, love swimming as well as love being a part of the CRKW family. The bursary will have no monetary value but will be used to pay for monthly fees, meet fees, team travel for meets, or apparel.
The recipient of the bursary will be notified by January 15th of each swim season.
