HYACK's Age Group Program: Regional 12 & Under

The Hyack Swim Club has had a successful Age-Group program for many, many years. Our swimmers are consistently amongst the best in the Province, are ranked Nationally and are the cornerstone of our Senior National Group (HP Group).

Overview: The swimmers in this group are the top 12 & under swimmers in our club! Regional is an expansive level of programming for our swimmers. Here, they are exposed to a higher level of training and competition. This group is the cornerstone for our young athletes.

They will compete around the Lower Mainland and occasionally elsewhere in BC (special Team Meet or BC Championship meets).  The swimmers are able to swim the four competitive swim strokes well for medium to longer distances.

The main focus in this level is improving athlete's ability to swim the four competitive strokes for longer distances as well as advance their fitness level. These swimmers also continue their refining of the competitive starts and turns for each of the four strokes. The concept of training is advanced upon from the concepts taught at the development level.
Our objective for the swimmers in this group is to continue the FUN aspect in every practice session started at the grassroots level. We also advance each swimmer's stroke technique, swimming speed, and overall fitness.

Both pools (CGP and CCAC) will train together on selected practices to maximize the training dynamic of all swimmers in Hyack.

There will be a 16 month window for swimmers in this group to meet the group's advancement goals.
