JUNIOR SQUAD

Our Junior Squad program is designed for children 4 to 8 years old (age is calculated based on May 1, 2018) with an interest in starting competitive swimming. The program was created to help familiarize both swimmers and parents with the world of competitive swimming - without diving into the deep end! This program offers a lower level of commitment and places a bigger emphasis on FUN!

This program focuses on:

  • Learning the fundamentals of competitive swimming stroke technique
  • Establishing and maintaining a high level of comfort in and around the water
  • Improving balance, co-ordination and general motor skills
  • Practicing, listening and learning techniques
  • Promoting friendship
  • Having FUN in the water!

Eligibility

Junior 1 Squad (4 to 6 years old)

  • For children in their first or second year of swimming

Both Junior programs are subject to minimum registration numbers in order to be offered. If a Junior squad swimmer is unable to meet the eligibility criteria within the first two weeks, registration will be returned, refunds will be issued (original fee less $50 administration fees) and the swimmer will be encouraged to enroll in a Red Cross swim program.
