Our Coaches

Head Coach: Katrina Carter

Katrina has a passion for competitive swimming.  She is a Swimming Canada – NCCP Level 2 trained Coach.  She has been coaching the Hanover Swim Club since 2017 and had previously coached the Hanover Personal Best Swim team from 2007-2010.  Her goal is to teach children the joy and passion of competitive swimming, while also teaching the valuable life skills that come from organized sport. Her biggest objective with coaching is to make sure that everyone is having FUN.

Besides coaching, Katrina has been a competitive swimmer for 25 plus years, much of that time training and competing in Florida.  Most recently, she competed in the 2017 FINA World Masters Championship in Budapest, Hungary and the 2018 Ontario Provincial Masters Championships. Katrina is also a Registered Massage Therapist. 

 

Assistant Head Coach- Competitive Program: Jordan Hotta

Dr. Jordan Hotta BMSc. D.C.

 

Jordan will be joining the Hanover Swim Club as Assistant Head Coach for the 2021/2022 season.  

Originally from Sudbury, ON, Jordan has been a lifelong athlete competing in several sports at the both the provincial and national levels in swimming, dragon boat, and canoe marathon. Since moving to the area, Dr. Hotta has provided continuing education for the Bruce County Paramedic Services, joined the Run4Health Committee in Walkerton, and is a member of the Port Elgin Master’s Swim Team.

He received his Doctor of Chiropractic in 2019 from the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College in Toronto after completing his honors bachelor’s degree in Medical Sciences (BMSc.)  at the University of Western Ontario. He currently practices out of Peak Performance Chiropractic Clinic in Walkerton, and Bruce County Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Centre in Port Elgin.

Jordan is excited to work with the Hanover Swim Club, and looks forward to creating an inclusive, engaging, and competitive atmosphere for all athletes.

 

Assistant Head Coach- Developmental Program: Alyssa Bosman

Alyssa is our Assistant Head Coach for our Developmental program, coaching all of our Swim School programs! She is NCCP Fundamental Coach Certified.  She has four children, three of whom participate on the swim club.   Alyssa likes to share her knowledge and skills with her swimmers.  Alyssa places great value on the ability to swim and feels that the Hanover Swim Club provides swimmers with an opportunity to not only learn the strokes but to also build strength, endurance, and confidence.

 

Assistant Coach: Trevor Bouchard

Trevor began swimming competitively at the age of 10 as a member of the Cambridge Aquajets where he was a club record holder in the 50 Breast SC/LC.

Trevor continued his swimming career as a member of the McMaster University Marauders swim team where he competed for 5 seasons, one of which he was part of OUA championship team. After graduating Trevor continued swimming competitively as a masters swimmer where he has completed at Canadian, United States and World Championships winning medals at many of these events. Currently, Trevor, is an assistant coach for the Hanover Swim Club and his day job is as the CEO of QuickContractors.com Inc.
 

Assistant Coach: Stefanie Kaster

Stefanie is  NCCP Fundamental Coach Certified. She is a mother to 2 very energetic boys, both of whom are members of the Hanover Swim Club. Since 2007, she has worked for the Brockton & Area Family Health Team, as a Primary Healthcare Nurse Practitioner. Recognizing the immense benefits of swimming, she is committed to seeing the HSC evolve. In addition to coaching, she is also the Treasurer for the HSC Board.

 

Assistant Coach: Darren Goodayle

Darren is  NCCP Fundamental Coach Certified. He has been swimming for as long as he can remember. Growing up Darren belonged on the Chesley Swim Club. He is excited to share his love of the water with his two kids, one of which is currently a member of the Hanover Swim Club. He is also looking forward to working with all of the other swimmers on the Hanover Swim Club! 

 

Assistant Coach: Hayley Falkiner

 

Swimming has been a huge part of Hayley’s life. She has been swimming since the age of 3 in various capacities. She competed in SWORSA for years with the Mildmay Bluefins as a competitor as well as coaching it for 10 + years.   Hayley also was a Lifeguard and Instructor guard for 8 years and the supervisor at the Mildmay Carrick Swimming Pool. She is a founding member of the original swim team in Hanover from 1996, where she swam competitively for 6 years with Swim Ontario.  At 16, Hayley was offered a swimming scholarship from College Prospects of America, but being she was so young at the time she found herself wanting other things.    Hayley took a long break from swimming, but now has 2 boys who also swim for both Mildmay and Hanover just as she did as a kid and teenager and this has brought back her love for coaching and swimming once again. Hayley has always had a passion for sports and coaching.  She has coached swimming, baseball and gymnastics. 

The pedagogy of children and athletes, studying human movement, performance of the body and physical education is what drove Hayley to study at Brock University in St Catharines.  She has a Bachelor of Physical Education (Honours) from the Department of Kinesiology.  Hayley works for the County of Bruce in Long Term Care, but due to Hayley’s love for helping teach in various formats you can also find her supply teaching and as an Educational Assistant from time to time with the Bluewater District Schoolboard.  Hayley is working towards her Level 1 coaching and has a Level 1 red pin for officiating.

 

Assistant Coach: Jenn Baetz

Jenn is in the process of completing her fundamental coaching certificate. She has two children that are both participating in the swim club. Jenn enjoys supporting the swimmers to have fun while learning new swimming skills. Watching how quickly the swimmers improve their swimming abilities is inspiring and something that she is excited to be a part of.

 

Assistant Coach: Suzanne Reinhart

Suzanne has had a love for swimming since she can remember. She swam with the Walkerton Swim Team from the age 7 until 12. At the age of 18, she trained to be a lifeguard and swimming instructor and worked at pool facilities in Hamilton, London and Walkerton while she was in University. Suzanne has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Western University. She worked as an ER/ICU and outpost nurse for 5 years. She returned to school and has completed 9 years of post secondary education with courses in the sciences as well as engineering. She currently works as a nuclear operator.

Suzanne has various experiences coaching – mainly fastball. She grew up playing competitive fastball and over the years has led skills clinics for kids of all ages and has coached women’s fastball. Now she enjoys helping her 5 young ones play the game. Currently, she is working on her level 1 certification (fundamentals coach) for Swim Canada and is looking forward to coaching swimmers of all ages.

 

Assistant Coach: Leanne Hampton

Leanne Hampton is thrilled to be coaching for the Hanover Swim Club! Leanne resides in Chesley and is the owner of Hanover Physiotherapy and Sports Rehabilitation. Leanne was a lifeguard and competitive swim coach over 20 years ago in her hometown of Ridgetown. She is currently completing her Swimming 101 course and looking forward to an exciting season ahead.

 

 

Assistant Coach: Matt Falkiner

Matt has been coaching various sports for several years. He is a level 1 and 2 hockey coach and started coaching hockey at the age of 16. Matt is also a level 2 baseball coach and is working his way towards level 1 swim coach. Matt is also a certified level 2 hockey Referee, a certified Hockey Trainer, and a Level 1 Red Pin swim Official.

Matt works as a Project Manager in the telecommunications field and is currently enrolled at Fanshawe College in the Project Management course. Matt never imagined himself becoming a swim coach as swimming was never an interest until he met his wife, Hayley. Now with his 2 boys in swimming in Mildmay and Hanover he decided to get involved and help coach this past summer during the Mildmay Bluefins season.

Assistant Coach: Alisa Ortman

Alisa is an aesthetician by trade and is the owner of Strands in Durham.  She is also an Educational Assistant in training.  In her youth she was a lifeguard and Instructor.  Her greatest achievements are her 2 children, and she is a proud Mom of Zasha 13, and Priya 9. She is looking forward to coaching HSC this season!

Assistant Coach: Carri Blue

Carri has been swimming since a young age and still loves to swim whenever she can. She was a member of the Chesley swim club as a child and into her teens until she became a lifeguard, and then helped coach at the Chesley Pool. Carri is a mother of 3 girls who share her love of swimming and have recently joined the Hanover Swim Club. They are all excited to get into the pool and start getting stronger and faster!

 

Strength and Conditioning Coach- Matt Reinhart

Matt is very excited to be helping out the Hanover Swim Club with our strength and conditioning. For 20 years Matt played fastball at the national level, with 10 of those years competing on a global level winning  World Championships in 2005 and 2009. For the last several years on the diamond his focus has been coaching youth baseball.
For almost three decades Matt has been accumulating knowledge in the field of strength and conditioning with the last handful of years becoming very specific to the development of young athletes. With a focus on proper, sustainable movements at the appropriate frequency and intensity Matt has helped many young athletes get closer to their genetic potential. 
At home Matt is busy running his training business Power Fitness, while keeping tabs on his five young children, three of which are members of the Hanover Swim Club.
